Seven-Eleven Japan launches new digital training platform

Developed in collaboration with Fujitsu, the system offers a modern, intuitive learning environment tailored to the needs of a diverse workforce.

Seven-Eleven Japan is taking a major step forward in its digital transformation journey with the introduction of a new employee training platform developed in collaboration with Fujitsu.

The platform is part of the next-generation store system designed to enhance operational efficiency, support store managers and franchise owners, and deliver a better experience for our employees and customers alike. Launched last March in selected company-operated stores, the solution offers a modern, intuitive learning environment tailored to the needs of a diverse workforce.

Accessible via in-store tablets and mobile devices, the platform empowers employees to learn at their own pace while enabling real-time tracking of skill development.

Store managers and owners can access instant visibility into training progress, helping the new talent by providing more targeted guidance and coaching. Looking ahead, this platform will continue to evolve under Fujitsu Uvance, incorporating advanced technologies like AI and data analytics.

Seven-Eleven Japan is prioritizing the digitalization of employee education and addressing key challenges of the retail industry. These include a shrinking workforce, an aging population, and the increasing presence of international employees.

The company aims to roll out this solution to more than 400,000 employees across approximately 22,000 stores across Japan.
