Shell amps up global EV charging expansion with new partnership
The company has selected Phihong Technology to support its strategy by providing a range of products for EV charging.
Shell has elected Phihong Technology to support its continued expansion into the global EV charging market. The Taiwan-based global supplier of power products and EV charging stations has signed a Global Framework Agreement with the oil company to provide a wide range of products for its EV charging stations.
Phihong will support Shell in several global markets as a key supplier, including Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America. As a press release published by the company stated, the list of products include 32A, 48A, and 80A Level 2 AC chargers, and 30kW, 60kW, 90kW, 120kW, 150kW, 180kW, and 360kW DC Fast Charging stations.
The first Shell Recharge service powered by the company’s products was launched in late December of 2021 in Hong Kong. The installation was equipped with 120kW DCFC stations, which deliver rapid charging from 10% to 80% in less than an hour.
This collaboration will deliver customer-specific turn-key solutions to meet the needs of Shell’s global green energy expansion. The collaboration represents a vote of trust from the oil company and the supplier views it as an essential milestone in its continued growth and focus on supporting the global EV charging market.
