Shell extends its EV stations from Malaysia to Thailand
Alongside Porsche Asia Pacific, the company will build new high-performance infrastructure as well as upgrade other sites with 180 kW chargers.
Shell has announced the extension and upgrade of its EV charging network from Singapore through Malaysia and soon expanding into Thailand. Alongside Porsche Asia Pacific, the company has unveiled its plans to modernize stations across the North-South Highway in the country and reach the neighboring nation.
“Our partnership is not only to highlight the joint partnership of two leading quality players of both Mobility industries in making customers’ lives journey the best, but also to drive net-zero emission ambitions. We are delighted to continue the extension strategy to introduce more EV chargers in strategic locations across Thailand under Shell Recharge,” said Ruengsak Srithanawiboonchai, Executive Director of Mobility of Shell Thailand.
Through this partnership, six Shell stations in Malaysia will be outfitted with 180 kW direct-current chargers. Last week, both companies celebrated the inauguration of a high-performance charging station in Tangkak, as the first of many forecourts to be modernized. This relation is also an important initiative under Shell’s Powering Progress strategy to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Both companies aim to increase cross-border connectivity through the expansion of the network to Thailand. Plans involve establishing new EV charging points around Bangkok and in cities that most tourists visit as well under its Shell Recharge brand.
