Sinopec unveils new hydrogen corridor along the Yangtze River
The company showcased interregional logistics potential through a trip across five provinces and revealed future plans to continue developing its hydrogen network.
Sinopec has reached a major milestone in hydrogen mobility with the launch of a new hydrogen corridor along the Yangtze River, further strengthening China’s hydrogen transportation network.
As part of the milestone, three hydrogen-powered logistics vehicles successfully completed a 1,500-kilometer journey from the Qingwei Integrated Energy Station in Shanghai’s Qingpu District, traveling through five provinces and municipalities before arriving at the Zhijiang Service Area South Station in Yichang.
This achievement builds on the company’s earlier hydrogen corridors, including the Beijing-Shanghai and Western Land-Sea routes, and expands the company’s growing hydrogen network.
The company is positioning itself at the forefront of China’s hydrogen transition. Currently, it operates 146 hydrogen stations and 11 supply centers, covering all “3+2” hydrogen fuel cell pilot city clusters and making it the world’s largest hydrogen station operator.
Looking ahead, Sinopec plans to advance its “Hydrogen Highway” initiative in alignment with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), building refueling networks along highways and pioneering new business models to accelerate the growth of China’s hydrogen economy.
