SimplyFresh and SimplyLocal have opened a new LittleFresh store at GRIDSERVE’s electric forecourt in Stevenage.

The newly opened store is powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology. This system allows visitors to shop seamlessly while their vehicles charge. Shoppers simply tap a contactless card or smartphone upon entry, select their items, and leave without the need to queue.

This state-of-the-art facility is the fourth of its kind from GRIDSERVE, featuring 30 EV charging bays, including 24 high-power chargers capable of delivering up to 360kW, and 4 dedicated Tesla Superchargers. This addition boosts EV charging capacity in the Stevenage area by 34%.

“At the Stevenage Electric Forecourt, we aim to deliver the best service, not just with charging but the whole experience. Little Fresh powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology delivers a seamless retail experience which has been popular at our London Gatwick Electric Forecourt,” said Rebecca Trebble, Chief Product Officer at GRIDSERVE.

The site also offers an interactive EV experience zone with support from GRIDSERVE Gurus for those interested in learning more about electric vehicles.

“With Stevenage, we’re excited to lead the evolution of convenience shopping, making it faster and more intuitive than ever, this is more than a store; it’s a glimpse into the future of retail,” said Kash Khera, Managing Director at SimplyFresh.

GRIDSERVE’s network now includes over 190 locations with more than 1,400 charging bays across the UK.
