South Korea: GS Caltex expands fuel station scope with new brand
GS Caltex’s new Energy Plus Hub facilities will provide under one roof conventional refuelling and other growing mobility and logistics services.
GS Caltex is expanding the scope of fuel stations in South Korea with the launching of its new brand Energy Plus, a new type of facility that will provide conventional fuel station offerings and serve as a mobility and logistics hub for rapidly growing car businesses.
The South Korean refinery launched the brand this week with the grand opening of its first Energy Plus Hub in southern Seoul's Seocho District. The location will offer under the new brand Energy Plus multiple services such as electric charging, hydrogen refuelling, a car-sharing platform, and a logistics hub for drone shipping.
The company is aiming to expand its customer base with two new Energy Plus Hub stations to open by the end of the year - one in Seoul and another in Busan.
GS Caltex partnered with LG Electronics to deploy high-power charging infrastructure at the Energy Plus Hub station, where the companies installed 350-kilowatt chargers that can recharge up to 80% of an electric vehicle battery within 15 minutes.
