Spain: Naturgy opens first LNG station in León
The gas station in Villadangos del Páramo is in a prime location for heavy transport in northwest Spain and Portugal, according to Naturgy.
Naturgy and Transmaraña have signed a contract for the construction of the first public liquefied natural gas (LNG) filling station in the province of León, Spain. The gas station, owned by the Transmaraña group, will be located in a service station in the town of Villadangos del Páramo, according to a press release.
According to Naturgy, the refuelling station is in a privileged location for the northwest of Spain and Portugal, from which it will provide LNG to heavy duty transport circulating through the autonomous community of Castilla y León.
The station in Villadangos del Páramo will have an LNG dispenser for fast refuelling of heavy duty vehicles, says Naturgy.
The new gas station in the province of León joins the network of natural gas refuelling stations that Naturgy currently operates in Castilla y León: one LNG and CNG station in Carbajosa de La Sagra (Salamanca); one LNG station in Fuentecén (Aranda de Duero-Burgos), opened together with the company Beroil, and another LNG station in Mercaleón-León, launched in cooperation with the company Paso Honroso.
All LNG and CNG customers can use the Naturgy card at these locations.
