The Zona Franca, a logistics and industrial area located near Barcelona, will soon have installed a hydrogen filling station and electric recharging points, announced Pere Navarro, the State's special delegate to the Zona Franca Consortium (CZFB).

The new hydrogen station will initially be used to refuel buses of the Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) network, and will later extend its service to all heavy goods vehicles passing through the area, Navarro announced at an online event organised by the Cluster de l'Energia Eficient de Catalunya (CEEC).

The initiative to install a hydrogen filling station for heavy vehicles and charging points is part of the CZFB's strategy to improve energy efficiency through the use of renewable energies.
