SPAR Hungary has opened a new SPAR City store in Budapest and modernised supermarkets in East-Budapest and Eger as part of its ongoing expansion programme. Investing a total of €3.9 million in these three stores, SPAR Hungary is expanding its network.

All three stores provide products for special dietary needs and an extensive range of SPAR convenience products. The renewed stores in Eger and Budapest feature a SPAR to Go unit, meeting growing demands for premium on-the-go options.

The newly opened SPAR City store is the first FMCG store in BudaPart, the newest quarter of the capital city. SPAR Hungary has invested nearly €950,000 in the store, offering employment to 15 new store team members.

The cutting-edge store design ensures a modern and convenient shopping environment. Standout features are the clearly arranged fruit & vegetable section, delicatessen counter, and bakery department. Customers looking for on-the-go conveniences can find these in the stand-alone cooler with SPAR enjoy products and the warm foods counter. The latest SPAR City store is equipped with self-checkouts, energy-saving LED lighting systems, and eco-friendly technologies.

Refurbishments

After an investment of €1.4 million, the modernised SPAR Supermarket in East-Budapest was reopened on 25 March. The redesigned store employs 29 team members.

The store has been designed according to the company’s latest design concept, featuring an extensive choice of fresh produce offered in market style and a large selection of convenience and baked goods near the entrance.

In addition to the modernised delicatessen counter and the bakery, an attractive, modern SPAR to Go unit has been added to the aisle of service counters, offering freshly prepared hot dishes.
