SPAR Hungary opens its 600th store
The number of SPAR independent retailer stores in Hungary amounted to 220 by 2021. The company is planning to open 20-22 new stores annually.
SPAR Hungary reached a new milestone with the recent opening of its 600th store. Located in the village of Vaskút in Bács-Kiskun County, the new store is part of SPAR Hungary's Partner Programme, launched in 2012.
In 2021, including the store in Vaskút, the number of SPAR independent retailer stores in Hungary amounted to 220, with the total number of stores reaching 600.
SPAR Hungary independent retailer network is already present in 102 municipalities throughout the country, according to the company.
As for future expansion plans, SPAR Hungary is aiming to open 20-22 new stores annually.
The first SPAR Supermarket opened in Hungary in 1992, following the acquisition by ASPIAG (Austria SPAR International AG) of a majority stake in General Kereskedelmi Rt. Since its launch, SPAR Hungary has been developing the country’s retail industry in cities, towns, and villages.
