SPAR, JET extend Express trial to Western Austria
The companies have expanded their convenience retail pilot with a new location in Salzburg, testing the concept across different regions and customer demographics.
SPAR Austria and fuel retailer JET have extended the trial phase of their convenience retail partnership with the opening of a new SPAR Express forecourt store at a JET service station in Saalfelden, Salzburg.
The latest site marks the partnership's first expansion into western Austria since the pilot launched in April. According to the companies, the additional location will help evaluate customer response across different regions and service station formats.
The new store occupies 80 m² and offers approximately 1,500 products. The assortment focuses on fresh food, chilled snacks and beverages, alongside everyday essentials and a mix of international brands and private-label products.
“We are delighted to expand the trial phase in western Austria together with JET,” said Hans K. Reisch, CEO of SPAR Austria. “This allows us to further develop our excellent cooperation in a targeted way and once again demonstrate what modern shopping at SPAR Express stores can look like.”
The Saalfelden location also introduces a store design centered on quick and intuitive shopping. Features include an open layout, clearly organized product categories, modern lighting and dedicated fresh food areas.
