Thorntons inaugurates new site in Illinois
The opening expands the brand’s reach in Chicagoland as the second location opened in the Cary community.
Thorntons has announced the opening of its newest Chicagoland store as well as its second location in the Cary community. Opened last Friday, the retailer now operates a network of 87 stores in Illinois, 67 located in Chicagoland.
This new 5,500 square foot facility features a number of amenities to serve the company’s on-the-go guests including self-checkout experience, LED lighting for customers and team members’ safety and energy efficiency, freshly made burritos and sandwiches alongside a variety of beverages and 20 auto fueling positions.
The brand celebrated the opening with a special event that included music, games and giveaways. During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Bob Hammond, Vice President of Operations at Thorntons, presented Northern Illinois Food Bank with a $2,500 donation.
This contribution was in honour of the new store opening and is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to help feed the hungry in all of the communities where it operates.
Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Thorntons is part of the bp portfolio and operates more than 200 stores across the states of Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and Florida.
