TotalEnergies expands fast-charging in Rotterdam with six new sites
20 new high-capacity chargers to support the city's zero-emission goals and growing EV adoption.
TotalEnergies Charging Solutions Netherlands has installed 20 new fast-charging points across six locations in Rotterdam, strengthening the city’s charging infrastructure as it prepares for a zero-emission zone and rising numbers of electric vehicle (EV) drivers.
The sites were selected in coordination with the municipality and local users, with three of them located in the port area: Hormuzstraat, Sint Jobsweg, and Waalhaven Zuidzijde.
“Demand for fast charging is growing,” said Quirijn Oudshoorn, charging infrastructure project manager at the Municipality of Rotterdam. “We are proud of our cooperation with TotalEnergies; together we have managed to realize six new fast-charging locations in a short time.”
The chargers in the port area have a capacity of 300 kW, around 25 times faster than a standard charging point, enabling drivers to recharge quickly and continue their journeys. The installations support Rotterdam’s ambition to make all forms of mobility in the city emission-free by 2040.
With these additions, TotalEnergies now operates 29 fast-charging points in Rotterdam, including earlier sites at Couwenburg 58 and Erasmus MC.
