TotalEnergies to install 500 public charging points in Berlin
The company has signed an agreement with the city to establish a 11 kW charging network over the next three years.
TotalEnergies has signed an agreement with the city of Berlin, Germany, to install up to 500 public charging points over the next three years. A 11 kW charging network will be established across the German capital to promote sustainable mobility.
The company has worked in close cooperation with the Berlin Senate to achieve this deployment. The local grid operator Stromnetz Berlin is helping to expand the charging infrastructure and promote the switch to e-mobility.
The new charging stations are set to be operated by TotalEnergies until 2030 and will be powered by 100% renewable electricity.
"Our publicly accessible charging points offer many Berlin households without their own parking space an attractive and sustainable way to charge their electric car with green electricity. TotalEnergies is committed to the expansion of charging infrastructure in Germany, which includes charging in public areas on the street as well as at partner sites," said Jan Petersen, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Charging Solutions Germany.
TotalEnergies aims to operate over 150,000 charging stations in Europe and Asia by 2027. As part of this commitment, the company has several charging networks in operation or under construction in Amsterdam and surrounding areas (22,000 charging points), Antwerp (3,000), Flanders (4,400), Brussels (500), Ghent (800), London (2,100), Paris (2,300), Singapore (1,500) and Wuhan (11,000).
