UK: MFG opens new ultra-rapid hub in Glasgow
The company has signed a new deal with Great Western Retail Park for the installation of a new charging hub for electric vehicles.
Motor Fuel Group (MFG) has announced a new EV partnership deal at Great Western Retail Park in Glasgow for a new ultra-rapid charging hub. The new site will feature eight 150kW ultra-rapid chargers and all-weather canopy expected to open in the third quarter of this year.
“This is another exciting development in our drive to build the UK’s best network of Ultra-Rapid EV hubs across the country. We have already invested significantly and ahead of the curve on EV charging across our own forecourt network as part of our dual-fuel strategy to support the UK’s transition to electric motoring,” said William Bannister, CEO of MFG.
The retail park is 270,000 sq. ft. with a strong tenant line-up that includes B&Q, Sainsburys, Currys and numerous other premium tenants. Prominently located on the A82, is one of the main arterial routes into the city centre. The partnership will add another location to MFG’s growing national network of EV power hubs and assist customers with their transition to e-mobility.

Over recent years, the retail park has seen the addition of new restaurants, an improved car park and signage which has led to a 25% increase in shoppers. The addition of the EV Hub is part of our desire to maintain Great Western Retail Park as the premier retail warehouse location for Glasgow,” added a spokesperson for Great Western Retail Park in a press release published by the company.
The chargers will offer motorists 100 miles range in approximately 10 minutes, subject to the charging capability of individual car batteries.
