Valero hits 50 fuel stations in Mexico
The fuel retailer plans to operate a total of 110 sites under its brand by the end of 2020.
Fuel retailer Valero has reached 50 fuel stations in Mexico with the opening of a new location in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. The site will be operated by Grupo Alpez, which also runs the country's first Valero gas station opened in the city of Guadalajara earlier this year.
Valero is currently present in six Mexican states: 30 fuel stations in Jalisco, 11 in Nuevo Leon, 3 in Puebla, 3 in Aguascalientes, 2 in the State of Mexico and one more in Coahuila. By the end of 2020, the company plans to open more sites in Veracruz, Tamaulipas, Querétaro and Guanajuato, reaching a total of 110 fuel stations in Mexico operated under the Valero brand.
Valero is one of the main companies - such as BP, Shell or ExxonMobil - that has expanded its footprint in Mexico following the liberalisation of the country's fuel retail market, and the resulting decline of Petróleos Mexicanos' (Pemex) market share.
