Viva Energy completes acquisition of Coles Express
Over 700 stores are included in the transaction, which aims to transform the company’s retail fuels business alongside the purchase of OTR group.
Viva Energy Group Limited announced that it has completed the acquisition of Coles Express Convenience Retailing’s business, thus adding over 700 stores nationwide.
After recently announcing the purchase of OTR group, the South Australia-based retailer, the company will begin the transformation of its Retail Fuels business. Viva Energy aims to become the leading convenience and mobility retailer in Australia.
“The convenience market has enormous potential for growth as customers seek a broader range of convenience, food and energy offers while they are on the move. The further acquisition of the OTR Group will secure a proven convenience offer which will complement and further extend our position in the convenience market,” said Jevan Bouzo, CEO of Convenience & Mobility at Viva Energy.
The relationship between both companies has spanned 20 years. While the Coles Express brand will eventually be replaced by OTR, customers will still be able to continue to redeem their Coles discount dockets and earn Flybuys points.
Coles will continue to provide product supply arrangements, including the Coles Own Brand product range and support the operation of the business through a Transitional Services Agreement.
