Wawa offers free coffee to celebrate 59th anniversary
The chainwide celebration will be held on April 13th and expects to give away nearly 2 million coffees for free at its approximately 1,000 stores.
Wawa announced that its annual Wawa Day tradition is back to celebrate its 59th anniversary. On April 13, the company will offer customers free hot coffee of any size across its retail network all day.
In addition, the retailer will also celebrate the connection between its customers, associates and communities with a special video and giveaway campaigns. The company will release 10 videos depicting stories celebrating the connection between the company’s associates and customers as well as donating $50,000 to its community partner, Children’s Miracle Network.
All stores will also select a "Day Brightening” customer that is near and dear to the store team and present them with a special Day Brightener sash, mug and a week’s worth of coffee.
“On April 13, we invite our customers to celebrate our rich history, growth and unwavering commitment to fulfilling lives, and we hope the stories we share put a smile on faces and inspire others to brighten days in their community,” said Chris Gheysens, CEO of Wawa.
Wawa entered the retail business in April of 1964 with the opening of its first store in Folsom, Pennsylvania. Now on the verge of opening its 1,000th store at the end of April, the firm is celebrating 59 years in retail by thanking communities with free coffee.
