Wawa to double the number of stores with Tesla Superchargers

With the latest announcement the number of Wawa sites with chargers will increase from 16 to 30.

Wawa Inc. plans to double the number of convenience stores that have Tesla Superchargers by the end of 2020.

Tesla has been partnering with specific companies in its Supercharger network expansion, and convenience store and fuel-station chain Wawa has been one of its biggest partners in the US.

With the new plans, the number of Wawa sites with Tesla chargers will grow to over 30. Sixteen stores in New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia and Florida already have charging stations since August 2017, reports the Inquirer.

Overall, Tesla now has about 6,500 Superchargers in North America and plans to rapidly expand its electric vehicle charging offerings.

Pennsylvania-based Wawa operates more than 840 c-stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Washington, D.C.
