Yesway appoints Chuck Sanders as VP of Merchandising

Industry veteran to lead strategy and boost category performance.

Yesway announced the appointment of Chuck Sanders as Vice President of Merchandising. Reporting to Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer Ray Harrison, Sanders will oversee all merchandising functions and drive the retailer’s long-term strategy.

With more than 20 years of experience in convenience and grocery retail, Sanders brings a proven track record in category management, margin improvement, supplier partnerships, and team leadership. “We are incredibly pleased to welcome Chuck to Yesway,” said Ray Harrison. 

“His depth of experience, results-driven mindset, and ability to build strong partnerships will be invaluable as we elevate our merchandising capabilities and continue delivering outstanding value to our customers,” added Harrison.

In his new role, Sanders will manage P&L responsibilities, assortment optimization, pricing strategies, and vendor relationships, while collaborating across marketing, operations, and supply chain teams. His career includes leadership roles at 7-Eleven, CAL’S Convenience, and Brookshire Grocery Company, where he oversaw more than $2 billion in annual category sales and executed large-scale merchandising initiatives.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Yesway operates 447 stores across nine states and continues to expand through acquisitions and new store development.
