YPF Digital has launched a new feature within the brand’s app that enables users to earn returns on the balances held in their accounts, in collaboration with Santander Argentina. The update marks a further step in the platform’s evolution from a fuel and payments tool into a broader, integrated digital ecosystem.

Starting in May, users who opt in will be able to generate returns automatically on the money available in their accounts. The process is designed to be simple and transparent, requiring no changes to how users load or use their balances. According to the company, the expected rate will be competitive within the local market.

“Account balances are currently the most widely used payment method within the app. With this new feature, we aim to accelerate its adoption, expand its reach, and solidify its use,” said Mauro Cercós, General Manager of YPF Digital.

The solution was developed together with Santander Argentina, which provides the underlying financial infrastructure. The management of funds and investment instruments is handled by Santander Asset Management Argentina, allowing returns to be generated automatically within the app environment.

The balance yield feature builds on recent enhancements to the YPF app, including open transfers, U.S. dollar payments, bill payments, self‑service fueling and differentiated nighttime pricing. Together, these updates aim to increase the app’s relevance in everyday use and deepen its digital relationship with millions of users.
