YPF launches Argentina’s first mobile fuel station
The new seasonal format brings premium fuels and a fully digital experience that adapts to peak tourist demand.
YPF introduced Argentina’s first mobile fuel station in the coastal city of Pinamar, testing a flexible service model designed to respond to seasonal demand while offering a fully digital customer experience.
The unit supplies up to two vehicles simultaneously and includes an autonomous FULL convenience module. The station offers only premium fuels and targets customers seeking faster service and technology-led interactions. Operations and assistance run in real time from the company’s Commercialization Real-Time Intelligence Center (RTIC).
YPF CEO Horacio Marín said the concept addresses pressure on infrastructure during peak travel periods: “We know that tourist destinations need more and better service in the summer, and this station is here to meet that demand.”
This launch follows a decisive regulatory shift by Argentina’s Secretariat of Energy, which in December approved Resolution 504/2025, establishing the country’s first comprehensive framework for mobile and portable modular fuel stations.
The regulation formalizes a format previously lacking consistent oversight and aims to reshape fuel distribution, particularly in areas without nearby service stations. Industry players view the framework as opening new market opportunities, while also increasing compliance demands to ensure lower costs do not compromise safety, environmental protection or infrastructure reliability.
As the first launch both for YPF and the country, the company aims to strengthen infrastructure in high-traffic tourist areas and signals a broader push toward modular, adaptive service formats.
