YPF restores fuel service near national park in Argentina
New proximity station reintroduces fuel availability on a key Patagonian tourism corridor after years without local supply.
YPF has opened a new proximity service station at the entrance to Nahuel Huapi National Park, restoring fuel availability in an area that has been without local refueling services since 2018.
The new Estación de Cercanía (ECER) Confluencia is located on National Route 237, a strategic access point to Villa Traful and a key route connecting Neuquén, Bariloche and other destinations in the Argentine Patagonia. The facility is situated on property owned by the Argentine Automobile Club (ACA).
The project was developed in coordination with Argentina’s National Parks Administration and is intended to improve access to fuel for residents, tourism operators and travelers visiting one of the country's most popular tourist regions. Prior to the opening, the nearest fuel stations were located dozens of kilometers away.
The ECER Confluencia Traful station operates under YPF’s modular format, designed for rapid deployment in locations where traditional service stations may not be viable. The site is monitored remotely through the company’s Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC).
The station offers Infinia gasoline and Infinia Diesel, accepts electronic payment methods, including the YPF mobile app and QR payments, and provides additional services such as Wi-Fi, tire inflation equipment, travel convenience products and YPF lubricants.
YPF also stated that local hiring was prioritized during the site's launch, with employees and suppliers sourced from Villa Traful to support economic activity in the community.
According to the company, the opening forms part of a broader strategy to expand energy and mobility services in remote communities and along strategic tourism corridors across Argentina.
