Z Energy CEO Lindis Jones to step down
The New Zealand fuel retailer and energy company has appointed former bp and TravelCenters of America executive Debi Boffa as chief executive, succeeding Jones later this year.
Z Energy has announced a leadership transition, with Chief Executive Lindis Jones set to step down later this year after 16 years with the company, including nearly four years in the top role.
The company has appointed Debi Boffa as its next CEO. Boffa is expected to join Z Energy at the end of September and formally assume the position on November 9 following a transition period. Jones will remain with the business until early December to support the handover.
Jones said the decision follows a period of transformation for the company, which included its integration into Ampol Group and the development of a long-term strategy for the business.
“After 16 years with the business, I have decided the time is right for me to step aside and allow a new leader to take Z through its next chapter,” Jones said.
Boffa brings experience from the energy, retail and convenience sectors, having held senior leadership roles with bp, TravelCenters of America and Thorntons. She said her initial focus would be on understanding the business and working closely with employees across the organization.
“My focus initially will be on listening, learning and understanding what makes Z special,” Boffa said. She added that evolving customer expectations, technological developments and changes across the energy sector present opportunities for both Z Energy and New Zealand's transport energy market.
Z Energy operates one of New Zealand’s largest fuel retail networks and has been expanding its focus beyond traditional fuels as the country's mobility and energy landscape evolves.
