Major Oil, American Development Partners to roll out 500 portable c-stores

The partnership aims to establish a new all-encompassing concept catering to all fueling needs and offering a seamless shopping experience.

Major Oil and American Development Partners have announced a collaboration to rollout 500 portable stations across the US.

Major, a newcomer to the convenience store sector, unveiled the new format as “Convenience Store Portable Above Ground Stations” (CPAGs). The concept is a response to real estate limitations in growing communities, the transition to alternative energies and increasing demand for automated shopping experiences.

Each CPAG is equipped with two 12,000-gallon above ground tanks, which can be segmented for the sale of both biodiesel and regular fuels, minimizing environmental impact. Nestled between these tanks is a strategically designed 90 m2 c-store space, offering a frictionless shopping experience.

This layout aims to elevate the customer experience and redefine operational efficiency, minimizing labor requirements and expense.

The CPAGs’ technology stack will also include EV charging stations in select parking spaces. In addition, each CPAG can accept fleet cards and over the road fleet cards.

Major Oil's strategy includes becoming a charge point operator, optimizing planograms for larger baskets and promotions, streamlining operations, and significantly reducing employee safety concerns through its cashless approach and automated inventory strategies.
