Marc-Manuel Simler succeeds Holger Mark as head of AVIA in Germany
Strategic shift continues as AVIA focuses on decarbonization and digital growth.
AVIA Deutschland has announced a leadership transition, with Marc-Manuel Simler taking over as General Manager of the company as Holger Mark will now become Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AVIA AG.
Simler, who joined the AVIA leadership team earlier this year, brings extensive experience from executive roles in the energy and finance sectors, both in Europe and internationally. His main focus will be to accelerate AVIA’s strategic transformation towards a decarbonized product portfolio while ensuring continued economic strength in the cooperative’s traditional business areas.
Holger Mark led the German branch of the AVIA Group for 12 years, expanding its digital service offerings and entering new business sectors. Among the milestones of his tenure are the launch of the AVIA VOLT e-mobility services brand and the establishment of a key fuel card partnership with Aral and the international Routex network in 2024.
“We are very pleased to have Marc-Manuel Simler taking on this key leadership role within the AVIA Group,” said Mark. “His extensive expertise in our core business areas, strong communication skills, and clear vision for innovation make him the right choice to lead AVIA into the future.”
AVIA is a cooperative network of 30 regionally focused, medium-sized energy companies in Germany. Operating more than 900 service stations across the country, AVIA ranks fifth in Germany by number of sites.
As the umbrella organization, the company coordinates purchasing across a broad spectrum of fuels and energy products, both fossil and renewable.
