Applegreen to open Ireland’s first Taco Bell
Opening is part of a major €15 million investment in a new motorway service area in Dunshaughlin
Fuel and forecourt retailer Applegreen will open Ireland’s first Taco Bell restaurant this September as part of a major €15 million investment in a new motorway service area in Dunshaughlin. The development will create more than 100 new jobs and marks the company’s largest single investment in Ireland this year, according to a LinkedIn post by Applegreen.
The new Dunshaughlin site will combine multiple well-known brands and fresh concepts under one roof. Visitors will find an M&S Food shop-in-shop, a Braeburn Coffee Café, a Burger King restaurant, and Crafted, Applegreen’s bespoke new deli offering. The site will also feature an Applegreen convenience store, a modern service station forecourt, and eight ultra-fast EV charging ports capable of delivering up to 400kW, with capacity to expand the charging facilities as more power becomes available.
For Taco Bell, the Dunshaughlin opening is a significant milestone as it marks the brand’s debut in the Irish market. Applegreen has confirmed that the restaurant will be the first of several planned for its sites over the next five years, reflecting the company’s strategy to diversify its food and beverage offering. This expansion is part of Applegreen’s wider €1 billion growth plan covering Ireland, the UK, and the US.
Applegreen operates almost 200 locations nationwide and typically invests over €50 million annually in new openings, refurbishments, and upgrades. Its partnership with M&S Food has also been expanding rapidly, with products now available at 30 Applegreen outlets and plans to double that figure in the medium term.
