Buc-ee’s to open first Virginia location in Rockingham County

New travel center brings the Texas brand to I-81, creating over 200 local jobs and a pit stop for travelers.

Buc-ee’s is set to open its very first Virginia location in Rockingham County on June 30, spanning 74,000 square feet and featuring 120 fueling points.

The location aims to offer road-trippers a one-stop shop for fresh food, local snacks and Buc-ee’s fan-favorites like homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries. Local officials, including Rockingham County Supervisors Chairman Dewey Ritchie and other community leaders, will join the grand opening celebration to mark this milestone for the region.

With the debut of its Rockingham County site, Buc-ee’s continues its steady expansion beyond Texas, adding Virginia to its growing network of 53 stores across Texas and the South. 

“One of the prettiest roads we could ever hope for, I-81 is full of folks coming and going for fun stuff. We are the perfect fun store for their road-trips, and the people of Rockingham County are fun too,” said Stan Beard of Buc-ee’s.

Since kicking off its multi-state growth in 2019, Buc-ee’s has brought its blend of clean, friendly and fun travel stops to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, Colorado and Mississippi.
