Carrefour lands in Rompetrol stations in Romania
The European grocer has signed a pilot project for two Express convenience stores at Rompetrol sites.
Carrefour Romania and Rompetrol Downstream to open convenience stores within in the Romanian fuel retail chain. The pilot project will run at two stations and will be developed based on customer feedback.
The first store is already open in the Rompetrol station in Mogoșoaia, and the store located in Ploiești will become operational by the end of the month.
Both Carrefour Express stores will operate non-stop and will offer a wide variety of products, including flagship segments such as bio food and selected wines from the Deschidem Vinul Romanesc program
"Rompetrol has focused its efforts over the last two years both on developing the network of service stations and transforming them into service centres, enabling customers to solve several tasks on their daily to-do list in one stop. Through the new pilot project, we want to offer our customers an expansion of the range of products available and depending on their feedback we will consider further development of this partnership," said Zhanibek Nugertayev, CEO of Rompetrol Dowstream.
The two hei gastro-restaurant areas at Rompetrol stations will continue to offer the popular range of sandwiches, salads and freshly prepared fruit, as well as a wide portfolio of coffee-based drinks.
The existing shop area in the petrol stations will be refurbished to Carrefour Express standards, and the cash register area will be shared for both fuel purchases, products from the gastro hei portfolio and the Carrefour shop.
