Christian Li appointed new Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana

The company has a network of 244 service stations and an annual volume of 490 million liters in Ghana.

Vivo Energy Ghana has announced the appointment of Christian Li as its new Managing Director, following the passing of former Managing Director Jean-Michel Arlandis.

A seasoned executive with nearly three decades of experience in the energy and fuel sector, Li brings a strong background in general management, business development, and sales and marketing across more than 20 African countries. A Mauritian national, he most recently served as Head of International Business for Engen, where he oversaw operations in several African markets including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia, Botswana, Mauritius, Lesotho, and Eswatini.

Prior to that role, Li was Managing Director of Engen Namibia for four years, earning recognition as one of the company’s top ten executives for three consecutive years. His career also includes leadership roles in South Africa, Mauritius, and the Republic of Congo. He began his energy sector journey with Chevron, before moving to Engen Mauritius in 2011.

Vivo Energy Ghana, the exclusive marketer and distributor of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants in Ghana, is a key player in the country's fuel retail sector. Established in 2013, the company builds on Shell’s long-standing presence in the market, which dates back to 1928.
