Conexxus and IFSF end global standards partnership
Both organizations concluded the existing framework no longer matched their members' evolving needs, as regional requirements and priorities diverged.
Conexxus and IFSF have agreed to terminate the Global Standards Development and Cross Licensing Agreement that has guided their joint standards work.
The partnership produced standards, guidance, and tools supporting interoperability across the global convenience and fueling retail industries. Following a review, both organizations concluded the existing framework no longer matched their members' evolving needs, as regional requirements and priorities diverged. They described the split as a strategic evolution rather than a retreat from their shared commitment to industry standards.
"Both organizations remain committed to supporting the industries we serve and to advancing standards that help improve efficiency, interoperability, and innovation," representatives of Conexxus and IFSF said.
Our collaboration has produced important work and delivered meaningful value to our members. This transition will provide each of us greater flexibility to focus on the needs of our respective members," they added.
Under the separation framework, both organizations retain rights to standards and tools developed jointly and can continue enhancing them independently.
