Easy Joy expands partnership with Tim Hortons in China
Three coffee shops will be opened throughout Beijing and located in convenience stores of the largest retail chain in the country.
TH International Limited, the operator of Tim Hortons coffee shops in China, announced the opening of three Tims Express coffee shops located within Easy Joy convenience stores in Beijing. The new locations employ the new “Tims Express” format and will be installed in stores located in the city’s central business district.
These openings are part of the operator’s collaboration with Easy Joy, China's largest convenience store chain. The new format involves a compact and efficient footprint that integrates easily into the retailer’s installations and exhibits the brand’s signature welcoming design.
TH (Tims China) operates more than 400 stores in the country. According to a recent report by the World Coffee Portal, investors pledged in March 2022 to commit up to $94.5m to fund Tims China's five-year growth plan to open 1,500 stores by 2027. Companies involved in the investment include Cartesian Capital Group and Silver Crest Management LLC, among others.
“We are collaborating closely with Easy Joy in store design and product research & development to offer customers a convenient and premium coffee experience through this new model. We are excited to open these Tims Express stores in Beijing and look forward to future growth within Easy Joy’s vast network of more than 27,800 convenience stores,” said Robin Zhou, General Manager of Tims China’s North China Region.
