Elli reaches one million public charging points across Europe

Volkswagen Group subsidiary expands its interoperable network and strengthens role as a key e‑mobility service provider.

Elli has surpassed one million public charging points across 28 European countries, reinforcing its position as one of the continent’s largest operator‑independent charging networks. The Volkswagen Group subsidiary has expanded its footprint by about 55% over the past two years, driven by rapid growth in high‑power charging (HPC) infrastructure.

"Through this development, we are positioning ourselves on a par with other leading mobility and charging providers in the European market," said Joschi Jennermann, CEO of Elli Mobility GmbH. "One million charging points represent a strategic benchmark within the European e‑mobility landscape."

The number of publicly accessible charging points continues to climb across Europe, with Germany alone recording a 17% annual increase. Elli’s network has grown from roughly 650,000 charging points to more than one million thanks to cross‑border expansion and new partnerships. In the past year, over 31,000 fast‑charging points were added to its network.

The company  is also placing greater emphasis on charging quality. Its Selected Partner Network highlights operators that meet standards for performance, reliability and on‑site services. The company brings together key CPOs each year to address customer pain points and improve charging consistency.

Elli’s partnership with SIXT has also expanded, enabling “SIXT charge” integration within the rental company’s app.
