Emart24 to open first c-store in India
Flagship Pune location to feature Korean street food, lifestyle goods, and youth-focused experiences.
Leading South Korean convenience store chain Emart24 is set to make its debut in India this August with the opening of its first store in Pune, Maharashtra.
The launch marks the brand’s entry into one of the world’s fastest-growing and youngest consumer markets. This expansion is being facilitated through a brand licensing agreement with Jung Brothers Hospitality and Indian real estate developer Solitaire Group, as published by Aju Press.
Located in the Solitaire Business Hub, the two-floor flagship store will introduce Emart24’s signature No Brand product line to Indian shoppers, along with a curated selection of Korean meals, cosmetics, and lifestyle goods.
“This is the first time a Korean convenience store is entering the Indian market. We believe our differentiated offerings and curated design will resonate with young Indian consumers," Emart24 said in a statement.
The upper level will feature a beauty section and a Korean-style self-service photo booth, designed to appeal to younger consumers seeking immersive cultural experiences.
On the ground floor, a 68-seat dining area—split between indoor and outdoor spaces—will serve popular Korean street food including tteokbokki, gimbap, and Korean-style hot dogs. The store aims to tap into the rising interest in Korean cuisine and pop culture among India’s Gen Z and millennial shoppers.
