EnBW expands German motorway fast-charging network
80 high-power chargers of up to 400 kW strengthen long-distance EV travel across key corridors.
EnBW, Germany’s largest provider of fast-charging infrastructure for EVs, has commissioned six new motorway fast-charging parks along major long-distance routes.
The new sites are located in Marktheidenfeld (Bavaria), Bramsche (Lower Saxony), Büren and Willich (both North Rhine-Westphalia), Thiendorf (Saxony) and Mühlhausen im Täle (Baden-Württemberg). Together, they offer 80 high-power charging points with outputs of up to 400 kW.
The locations in Thiendorf, Marktheidenfeld and Bramsche can each be expanded by a further eight charging points if required.
“EnBW fast-charging parks are anchor points for long-distance electric travel throughout Germany. With more than 50 fast-charging parks along the most important long-haul routes, we ensure that EV drivers can charge quickly and reliably nationwide,” said Volker Rimpler, Head of eMobility Technology at EnBW.
With this step, the company marks another milestone in its expansion strategy for sustainable mobility, which targets up to 20,000 fast-charging points by 2030.
EnBW currently operates more than 7,500 fast chargers at over 1,500 sites across Germany.
