FamilyMart hosts Rakuten Mobile caravans in store car parks
The pilot brings the carrier’s mobile shop to four FamilyMart sites in Tokyo and Wakayama until November 28, letting shoppers review phone plans while running errands.
FamilyMart and Rakuten Mobile have launched “Rakuten Mobile Caravan Car at FamilyMart”, bringing the telecom operator’s mobile shop to the car parks of FamilyMart stores. It is the companies’ first joint initiative using FamilyMart parking areas. It runs from October 30 to November 28 at four stores: two in Tokyo and two in Wakayama Prefecture.
At the caravan, customers can get advice on new smartphone contracts or switching carriers, along with information on Rakuten Hikari and Rakuten Turbo home internet services and Wi-Fi routers. Visitors can also request a personalized quote without signing up. Those who receive a quote and complete a survey can choose between 1,000 Rakuten points and a ¥1,000 FamilyMart shopping voucher.
FamilyMart is promoting the initiative through posters and its in-store digital signage network, FamiMa TV.
The collaboration builds on an existing partnership. Since July 1, 2026, FamilyMart has been part of Rakuten Ichiba’s SPU points program. According to the companies, the initiative reflects a shared aim of offering community-focused convenience and a nearby place to discuss telecom services.
