France: E85 now available at 750 Total stations

The French oil company has scaled up the roll out of E85 across its network in France.

Total has accelerated the deployment of E85 fuel within its service station network in France to meet the growing demand.

With the new additions, Total now has the biggest E85 network in France serving the cleaner fuel at more than 750 service stations.  By the end of 2019, Total had already doubled its distribution capacity, from 270 service stations to more than 500.

The fuel blend has 85% ethanol fuel and 15% gasoline or other hydrocarbon by volume. The bioethanol is made from beet, wheat or corn. An advantageous tax system allows the fuel to have a low price point.

"Providing our customers with ever more affordable and environmentally friendly energy is at the heart of our business,” said Guillaume Larroque, President of Total Marketing France.

"Total has decided to accelerate the development of E85 and will continue this effort in 2021, in order to give as many people as possible access to this low-carbon fuel at an attractive price,” he added.

Total Marketing France has a network of 3,500 service stations in France, including hundreds of multi-energy sites.
