Green Trail Fuels acquires 25 Littlefield Express stores

The HF Sinclair joint venture adds convenience stores and travel centers in Arkansas and Oklahoma, while the Littlefield family keeps its wholesale, hauling and propane businesses.

Green Trail Fuels, a joint venture between HF Sinclair and UPOP Holdings, has acquired 25 company-operated convenience stores and travel centers from Littlefield Retail Group, operator of the Littlefield Express brand in Arkansas and Oklahoma. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The sites sell Phillips 66, Valero, Citgo and Sinclair fuels and offer foodservice, car washes and McDonald’s and Burger King restaurants.

Green Trail Fuels was formed in February 2026 to expand HF Sinclair’s branded retail presence. UPOP operates the sites, while HF Sinclair holds a 50% non-operating economic interest and supplies fuel from its regional refineries.

The Littlefield family traces its roots to 1946, when Littlefield Oil Company started as a bay station in Booneville, Arkansas, and launched Littlefield Express in 2014. After the sale, the family will continue to run its wholesale fuel distribution, petroleum hauling and propane businesses.

“Selling the stores we built was not a decision we made lightly,” said Aaron Littlefield, President of Littlefield Companies. “We are proud to hand these stores to Green Trail and look forward to focusing on our wholesale, transport and propane operations.”

Downstream Energy Group acted as exclusive sell-side advisor to Littlefield Express.
