Haffner Energy plans hydrogen sales hub at Marolles site

The company will install an HRS refueling station to commercialize renewable hydrogen produced from biomass, creating a new revenue stream while validating the competitiveness of its production technology.

Haffner Energy has announced plans to install an H14 hydrogen refueling station at its Marolles facility in France, enabling the company to sell renewable hydrogen produced on-site and expand beyond its traditional role as a technology provider.

Supplied by HRS, the station is scheduled for installation in 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. The project is expected to support the commercialization of hydrogen generated by Haffner Energy’s H6 production module, which converts residual biomass into renewable hydrogen.

The initiative is part of the company's strategy to develop recurring revenue streams through the sale of energy products. According to Haffner, more than 85% of the equipment required for the Marolles production and refueling chain has already been installed or paid for, positioning the site to become financially self-sufficient through hydrogen sales.

The H14 station will provide compression, storage and dispensing capabilities, allowing hydrogen to be delivered to industrial customers and other refueling stations via tube trailers. The facility will also be able to refuel vehicles directly at 350 and 700 bar.

The project also strengthens Haffner Energy's partnership with HRS. The companies plan to offer integrated solutions for future hydrogen projects, combining hydrogen production, storage and refueling infrastructure.

According to the companies, the Marolles installation will serve as a commercial and operational showcase for the technology while providing real-world performance data to support future deployments.
