Kempower, AVIA Weghorst hit 5‑year charging milestone in the Netherlands
More than 300 DC charge points deployed as partnership scales nationwide.
Kempower and AVIA Weghorst have deployed more than 300 DC fast‑charging points across the Netherlands over five years, expanding charging capacity for both passenger vehicles and heavy‑duty transport as part of a long‑running partnership.
The collaboration, formalized in 2021, has resulted in more than 130 charging projects nationwide, delivering a combined installed power of 21.4 megawatts. AVIA Weghorst acts as both reseller and operator of Kempower chargers, supporting commercial fleet customers while expanding its own public fast‑charging network under the AVIA VOLT brand.
The Netherlands has emerged as a global leader in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, with strong growth in both passenger and truck charging. The two companies have contributed to this expansion by deploying solutions ranging from depot‑based charging to high‑power roadside hubs for long‑haul transport.
The partnership has included several firsts for the Dutch market. AVIA Weghorst was the first to install Kempower’s distributed charging system in the Netherlands and later opened the country’s largest public truck charging plaza in Enter in 2024. More recently, it became the first operator to deploy Kempower’s MORE solution, which allows additional connectors and higher power from a single system.
Next, the companies plan to commission Kempower’s latest satellite chargers at AVIA Almelo XL Park along the A35 highway, with a total charging capacity of 1.8 MW, primarily dedicated to high‑power truck charging.
