LEON launches branded self-serve coffee kiosks in EG forecourts
After a successful pilot trial, the restaurant will deploy the new equipment at 68 stations operated by the Group across the UK.
LEON has announced the launch of its own branded self-service coffee kiosks at several forecourts operated by the EG Group. A total of 68 service stations across the United Kingdom (UK) will be implementing the new equipment to offer customers a new way to order and enjoy the hot beverage.
The restaurant brand recently launched a pilot trial that consisted of five kiosks located in selected stores earlier this year. After confirming its success via this new rollout, the firm has announced that the number of devices may increase beyond the initial quantity as opportune sites are identified.
“Ever since we started selling coffee in our restaurants, we’ve made sure to use the best beans we possibly can. We are thrilled to be able to share our coffee with more people across the country with the unveiling of these innovative kiosks, and look forward to seeing this expansion in action,” said Glenn Edwards, Managing Director of LEON Restaurants, according to a report by the World Coffee Portal news site.
This new deployment represents the next phase in the restaurant’s brand diversification. For the last two years, the company has launched its coffee subscription program as well as introducing its branded retail coffee. In April of last year, the chain was acquired by the EG Group and announced its plans for expanding its footprint.
Its owner announced the new growth strategy for the brand’s reach, which involved the opening of new locations starting in 2022. The press release published back in December of last year stated that its objective was to open more than 50 restaurants in the next year and to create a total of 4,000 new positions over the next three years.
LEON was founded back in 2004 and it currently operates a network of 80 restaurants across the UK.
