Lifte H2, Resato Hydrogen to build hydrogen station for Kreis Düren

The site will be used by the expanding fuel cell bus fleet in the district and support the hydrogen ecosystem.

A consortium composed of Lifte H2 GmbH and Resato Hydrogen Technology BV has been selected to develop a hydrogen refueling station for the region of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany.

This project includes the design and delivery of a facility with hydrogen supply panel, on-site storage, compressor, cooling unit, hydrogen dispensers, and an integrated control and monitoring system. The site will be used by the expanding fuel cell bus fleet in the district of Düren and to support its hydrogen ecosystem.

The station will be implemented in two phases: initially supporting 23 buses and later expanding to accommodate 52 buses. At full capacity, the site will provide 1.2 tonnes of hydrogen daily.

"This infrastructure project advances our clean transportation goals. The new facility enables us to reduce emissions while maintaining reliable transit operations," said Guido Emunds, Managing Director at Beteiligungsgesellschaft Kreis Düren, a subsidiary of the district of Düren.

Lifte H2 will manage the project, design the station, and oversee commissioning while Resato is set to supply the refueling infrastructure equipment and provide short-term maintenance services. The station will incorporate parallel refueling capabilities and an integrated control system.

The project's second phase, scheduled for completion by Q3 2027, aims to support the region's growing hydrogen infrastructure needs and ensure reliable service for the expanding bus fleet.
