Mexico: ExxonMobil to operate 170 sites by end of 2018
ExxonMobil is speeding up its rollout of Mobil branded service stations in Mexico to reach 170 by the end of the year.
In an interview with El Financiero, Carlos Rivas, director general of the fuelling company, said that they has signed agreements with local groups from Puebla and Aguascalientes that would boost their number of stations from 35 to 50 before the end of the semester.
“In Puebla we have agreed with the Polycon Group the opening of 34 sites – the first five will open by May 30. In Aguascalientes we’ll be with Lomelín Group with 10 stations,” explained Rivas.
The company is currently embroiled in conversations to open petrol stations in Nuevo León, Estado de México, Coahuila y Ciudad de México. They are also close to agreeing a deal to open 20 new sites in Zacatecas.
To supply the growing number of stations in Mexico, Rivas announced that ExxonMobil will be opening two new fuel terminals in Hidalgo and Nuevo León.
