Orlen is expanding its ultra‑fast electric vehicle (EV) charging network in the Czech Republic, strengthening its push into e-mobility at fuel stations along key transportation routes.

The fuel retailer has begun rolling out its proprietary Orlen Charge network following the launch of its first ultra‑fast charging site at the Průhonice filling station on the D1 highway. Additional locations are planned this year on major corridors, including stretches of the D5, D2 and D6 highways, as well as sites connected to the Trans‑European Transport Network (TEN‑T).

The company currently provides EV charging through partner networks at 73 locations nationwide. The new initiative builds on that footprint by shifting toward company‑owned ultra‑fast charging infrastructure.

By the end of 2026, Orlen plans to operate 11 of its own ultra‑fast charging locations within its Czech filling station network. Rostislav Moravec, director of Orlen’s filling station network in the country explains that the company is “monitoring technological progress and the growing importance of electric mobility in the Czech Republic,” as it aims to “be the preferred choice for electric vehicle drivers as well.”

The company is developing its own EV charging services, including support for corporate clients through an expanded Tankarta Business Charge card. For private customers, a dedicated mobile app will have a pilot launch planned for the second half of 2026.

The ultra‑fast chargers being deployed offer power levels of up to 300 kW, aimed at reducing charging times for drivers on longer journeys. Looking further ahead, Orlen plans to operate more than 600 ultra‑fast charging points in the Czech Republic by 2030 and up to 1,700 across its network by 2035.
