Oryx Energies Uganda has entered into a partnership with Yongeza Capital to support green e-mobility across the country.
The service station brand will allocate areas at selected outlets nationwide to install charging points. Currently, several operational e-battery swapping stations are up and running in Kampala, with more to be installed before the end of 2024.
Yongeza’s mission is the large-scale electrification of mobility in Uganda. The company’s services include the provision of battery-swapping technology for riders of electric motorcycles.
These charging points will allow riders of electric motorcycles to swap their depleted battery for a freshly charged one in a process that takes less than a minute. With a range of 80-100km, the batteries deliver an estimated 30% saving on fuel costs vis-à-vis internal combustion engines.
Oryx Energies Uganda Limited embraces this action as part of its approach towards energy transition while partnering with a Ugandan company to foster a sustainable mobility ecosystem.
