Oxxo Gas opens first secure travel center for drivers and freight operators
Developed in partnership with Mexico’s Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation, the new Majalca site combines fueling, food, vehicle services and secure rest facilities.
Oxxo Gas and Mexico’s Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) have inaugurated the country’s first Secure Travel Center with Integrated Services, a new facility designed to improve safety, convenience and services for travelers and freight operators.
Located in Majalca, Chihuahua, the Punto Travel Center spans more than 35,000 m² and serves as a mobility hub offering a wide range of amenities. The site includes an Oxxo Gas service station, an Oxxo convenience store, a Caffenio coffee outlet, a Doña Tota restaurant, a Mecánica Tek vehicle service workshop, secure truck parking, rest areas and shower facilities.
The center has received official recognition as a “Secure Travel Center with Integrated Services” from the SICT and is supported by a nearby Mexican Army (SEDENA) facility to enhance security for transport operators and motorists using the corridor.
With an investment exceeding MXN 100 million (approximately $5.4 million), the project is expected to generate more than 200 direct and indirect jobs and serve over 480,000 users annually.

According to the company, the Majalca project is intended to serve as a model for future developments in other strategic regions of Mexico. Oxxo Gas said it aims to replicate the concept to strengthen road safety, improve rest facilities and enhance the overall experience for both commercial transport operators and travelers.
