The 24/7 nature of the mobility retail sector generates a constant overflow of operational, transactional, and pricing data. Interpreting this expanding volume of information against the backdrop of energy‑market volatility and shifting consumer behavior increasingly requires tools capable of guiding retailers through the complex maze of decisions they face each day. This is precisely why the adoption of AI tools is accelerating, impacting both efficiency and timing by making sense of complex data environments.

Against this backdrop of rapid AI adoption and shifting operational demands, PDI Technologies is introducing PDIQ, a new embedded AI foundation designed to sit underneath the systems many retailers already use. Rather than arriving as a standalone tool, PDIQ is woven into the company’s existing ecosystem, from ERP and POS platforms to loyalty, wholesale, and other operational solutions, making AI a native part of daily workflows.

The approach reflects a broader trend in the sector: instead of layering new tools on top of aging infrastructure, retailers are looking for intelligence that operates inside the systems they rely on most. “Operators want to modernize, but they demand practical performance and clear governance from AI they can trust,” explains Jimmy Frangis, Chief Executive Officer at PDI Technologies.

At its core, PDIQ is meant to handle the kinds of routine, time‑consuming tasks that often distract teams from bigger strategic decisions. The foundation can automate basic steps, help coordinate workflows across different PDI applications, and draw on built‑in connectors to simplify interactions between systems.

Human expertise at the center of AI innovation

At the operational level, PDIQ introduces a layer of personalized insight, drawing on a retailer’s existing data to surface recommendations or actions that teams can review, approve, or refine. The goal is not to replace human judgment but to support it—clarifying what’s happening in the business, accelerating response times, and ensuring people remain firmly in control.

“PDIQ builds on decades of industry experience, and we’ve partnered with leading infrastructure and model providers to assemble what we believe is the strongest AI foundation in our end markets,” adds Linnea Geiss, Chief Operating Officer, PDI Technologies. “With more than 400 AI‑certified engineers internally, 600 intelligent agents in active use, and a flexible skills marketplace, we’re designing PDIQ for complex industries where reliability and execution matter most. Bringing this experience natively into our product suite gives customers the most natural, low‑friction way to begin benefiting from AI today.”

PDIQ is now in its beta phase with a select group of initial customer adopters. A hands-on lab will debut at Connections Live 2026 in August, allowing conference attendees to explore how PDIQ can transform their operations.
