Pilot will modernize point‑of‑sale technology across its more than 900 travel centers in North America under a new five‑year platform agreement. The initiative aims to create a unified, resilient operating environment that enhances daily store performance and supports smoother, more consistent guest experiences.

As part of this transformation, Pilot will deploy a new POS and fuel platform from NCR Voyix, integrating both retail and commercial fueling capabilities into a single system. The technology shift reflects Pilot’s continued efforts to streamline operations, accelerate software delivery across its network and reduce friction for team members managing high‑volume locations.

The company said the new platform will also allow it to activate improvements more quickly as demands evolve, strengthening edge security and providing greater visibility into store performance. With more than 1.2 million daily guests, the retailer sees modernized POS capabilities as essential to maintaining reliability at scale while preparing for future retail innovations.

“At a time when technology is moving at an unparalleled pace, we are excited to be leveraging this innovative platform to transform our point‑of‑sale operating environment for the future, while simplifying and modernizing our tech stack,” said Andy Lupo, chief technology officer at Pilot. “For a network of our size, the job is to keep stores running smoothly while making meaningful improvements fast.”

Pilot Travel Centers, headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, operates one of the largest networks of travel centers in North America, with locations across 44 U.S. states and five Canadian provinces.
