Q8 and Storm open Wallonia's first full fast-charging hub in Ciney
The site on the N4 combines eight high-power chargers with a Delhaize Shop&Go, Panos and McDonald's, part of a broader Benelux rollout targeting 500 locations
Q8 and Belgian energy developer Storm have opened the first full service Q8 electric fast-charging station in Wallonia, located along the N4 in Ciney. The site offers eight simultaneous charging bays with a capacity of up to 400 kW, allowing a standard 50 kWh EV battery to reach 80% charge in around 20 minutes.
While vehicles charge, drivers can shop at a Delhaize Shop&Go, grab a coffee at Starbucks, or eat at Panos or McDonald's. The station also pilots a premium restroom concept with partner 2theloo, positioning the stop as a comfortable travel break rather than a waiting exercise.
"The combination of fast charging, comfort and convenience is the future," said Sven Dochez, Commercial Director at Q8.
The Ciney opening is part of Q8's ambition to deploy over 500 fast-charging locations across the Benelux region within five years. The company's charging card and app currently provide access to more than 900,000 charge points across Europe.
For Storm, which has developed around 60 wind turbines in Belgium since 2008, the project marks a significant step into fast-charging infrastructure.
