QuikTrip expands crisis‑support access across 1,200 stores
Retailer rolls out nationwide TXT 4 HELP service in partnership with Safe Place to connect youth to 24/7 professional support.
QuikTrip is expanding its long‑standing partnership with the National Safe Place Network, enabling young people in crisis to access TXT 4 HELP, a confidential 24/7 text‑based support service, at any of the company’s more than 1,200 stores across the United States. The nationwide rollout, announced during National Safe Place Week, will be completed by June 1.
The expansion allows youth experiencing abuse, homelessness or other emergencies to connect to trained professionals even when they are not near a designated Safe Place agency. By texting “SAFE” and their location to 4HELP (44357), users receive information on nearby resources and can opt into a secure text conversation with a crisis‑support specialist.
QuikTrip has supported the Safe Place program for more than 30 years, serving as a network of accessible touchpoints across its retail footprint. Last year, employees facilitated 268 Safe Place calls in coordination with 24 partner agencies nationwide.
“Young people facing difficult circumstances should always have a place they can turn to for help,” said Kevin Thornton, QuikTrip president. “Expanding TXT 4 HELP nationwide ensures youth can connect to the support they need quickly and confidentially.”
The National Safe Place Network describes the expansion as a significant advancement in crisis accessibility. “Finding a Safe Place can be lifechanging for young people in crisis,” said Laurie Padilla, the organization’s president and CEO. “This partnership increases access to immediate safety and support across QuikTrip’s national footprint.”
QuikTrip’s Community Relations Manager and National Safe Place Network board member Lauren Sherry said the TXT 4 HELP program ensures that every store can function as a connection point for youth seeking assistance as the company continues to expand into new communities.
